I had been in extreme pain for over 6 months suffering from spinal stenosis and slipped disc previously diagnosed by another surgeon who recommended painkillers. There was no improvement and it was affecting my quality of life as even walking was agony. My physio recommended I see Mr Quraishi who after looking at the scan very quickly recommended surgery as my only option. I felt relieved there was some light at the end of the tunnel and my surgery took place a few weeks later. The pain from the spinal stenosis disappeared immediately. I still experienced residual nerve pain in my legs for quite a few weeks but that is now fading and with the help of physiotherapy I am back to near normal 4 months post op. I am very grateful to Mr Quraishi for giving me my quality of life back after a very dismal time.

Mr. Quraishi right from our first meeting showed not only his knowledge and skill but also his willingness to convey the details of the problem and the possible solutions in language that a layman could understand. As a result, I knew that I was in good hands. The need for an operation was clear and was organised with the minimum of fuss and fortunately only a short delay. After the operation I was able to get out of bed within 24hours and home shortly afterwards. After a pain free year, I am now able to do tasks which I thought were out of reach. The level of improvement is significantly greater than that which he said that I might expect. At all levels the consultations, treatment and nursing were to the highest standard. I have no hesitation in giving a five star review.

He listened. He explained. He clarified when necessary and was always reassuring. Could not wish for a more understanding and sympathetic person. His compassion was evident both pre and post-operation.

Mr Quraishi was brilliant from start to finish, kept me up to date with everything on the day of surgery after explaining in depth what procedure I would have and what he would be doing. I had a spinal fusion & decompression at L4/L5 level. One year later and it has changed my life, I couldn’t walk 15 yards before without pain but now I can walk miles and enjoy days out with my family, something I couldn’t do before.

If you are thinking of any surgeon, Mr Quraishi is the guy you need! Super professional and knowledgeable.

Throughout consultations I was treated with care & respect; full information was given & the implications of any treatment was fully explained. My questions were given thoughtful consideration so that together, we came to decisions on how to proceed. When asking for guidance / recommendation, the consultant gave his opinion supported by his professional experience.

Whether in person or receiving telephone consultations, I was not hurried & before concluding Mr Quraishi was careful to ensure that we both shared a clear understanding of the current situation & any future proposals.

The first time I met Mr Quraishi I was apprehensive. He was very direct and to the point in explaining what he planned to do. I was going to ask if he could deal with the L3/4 disc bulge as well as the L5 but he said he was going to do this as well, which was the worst one and was touching the nerve the most, before I got to ask. He was very realistic in his information, stating that I'd still have pain after the operation. I expected some residual pain but was used to having pain for the last 22 years. On getting up for the toilet 5 hours after the operation i knew he'd fixed it, no pain in L5 region. I was over the moon. He nipped in to see how I was saying that the operation went very well. I cannot thank him enough.

Mr Quraishi has always given clear and sound advice and very reassuring but left the ultimate decision regarding surgery to me. I had moved house to another county when I made the decision to proceed with my surgery but because of the trust I had in Mr Quraishi, made the decision to travel two hours from my home to a hospital where I could have surgery conducted by him.

I had been rattling around within the NHS and privately for over 10 years without receiving an accurate diagnosis relating to back pain. Professor Quraishi reviewed the notes, made some diagnostic tests and successfully treated the pain in a couple of months. In theatre, the supporting staff refer to him as "Boss" which is a mark of the esteem and admiration which he inspires. He is genuinely exceptional.

Doctor Quraishi listened intently and with great understanding when I spoke of my long term leg and back pain which had impacted on my ability to walk and undertake normal every day activities. Doctor Quraishi made me aware of his thoughts as to the cause, action to reduce or iliminate my problem and possible risks of the procedure. He also inquired if I had any further questions or concerns. I am very delighted to report that the investigation/confirmation of cause and remedial treatment suggested and undertaken by Doctor Quraishi was both timely and completely effective both from the physical and mental (worry and concern) viewpoints. The service provided throughout was first class and I have no difficulty in recommending treatment by Doctor Quraishi should you have similar health problems.

Prof. Quraishi was really excellent, professional and friendly . I completely trusted his judgment at every step . He spent a lot of time in the consultation and took the time to explain every step of the operation and answer all of my questions and the questions of my very concerned family. He also answered each and every email we sent and was very supportive the whole time. He was truly concerned about my wellbeing and made sure that the conditions for the operation were optimum even if it meant having to postpone surgery. After surgery he saw me everyday even on weekends and made sure everything was perfect for me. He was very reassuring and made sure I was well taken care of. I feel truly lucky to be his patient, he is really an extraordinary person.

I was extremely pleased with Prof. Quraishi's diagnosis and surgery, especially when he agreed to examine extra vertebrae and operated when he discovered it was needed. That is going above and beyond what's normally expected. He has been polite, courteous and put me at ease. Prof. Quraishi kept me well informed throughout the whole process, explaining things in layman terms if it sounded complicated. I consider I had the most excellent of treatment which improved my life considerably, I had been in extreme pain for a considerable time and this was totally relieved by the spinal decompression operation. I can now walk distances without a frame and am tall and upright once more. Thank you Prof. Quraishi.

I like the way Dr Quraishi was open about the likely outcome following surgery and he was honest about potential side effects. Following the surgery, I was reviewed as I had not recovered as quickly as hoped I was given a further appointment for review which I felt was helpful and reassuring.

Mr Quraishi has fixed my back twice, both being down to me doing too much on a building site. Over the last 30 years I have had 4 back operations and I would only be confident going into theatre knowing Mr Quraishi is performing the surgery, Mr Quraishi is very explicit to what he can do for you and what the outcome can be, I feel completely at ease with him and have full confidence in his abilities, how I look at it everyone has only one back and if you have a problem with it then you want the best and I believe he is!!. Each time I have gone into hospital I am struggling to walk, in severe pain, unable to do most tasks, cannot even turn over in bed, leaving no quality of life, but he cures that, what more can you ask for? Highly recommended.

I went into Woodthorpe Hospital quite frightened at first but upon entering to leaving I was put at ease from everyone especially hospital staff and the lovely Prof Quaishi who made me at ease with the operation. Cannot fault anything and would highly recommend anyone to go there whether private or nhs.

I first saw Dr Quraishi over 8 years ago and he administered an epidural into my spine after persistent back ache from degenerated discs. I had over three years of relief from this and was very pleased with the results. Fast forward to this year i returned to see Dr Quraishi with tremendous pain in my left leg that was impacting every part of my life. I had several steroid injections through my local surgery and was at breaking point from the pain. I took my scans from Heath Lodge clinic and within minutes of meeting with Dr Quraishi he had diagnosed my pain. I had two buldging discs which were compressing my nerve. Dr Quaraishi talked me through my options really clearly and took time to listen to my anxieties about my pain. We agreed on a nerve block and my appointment was within a few weeks of my intial consultaton and on the day Dr Quraishi took time to discuss my pain and said that I could call his secratary at any point (before my next scheduled appoinmnet) if I felt it hadn't work. I felt Dr Quraishi understood how desperate I was and I felt confident in leaving the hospital that day. Sadly I had only two good days of relief and I called the hospital thankfully getting an appointment two days later. Dr Quraishi asked immediately how I was and took time to explain my next step which was surgery. I gratefully agreed and met up with him a few weeks later to consent. Fast forward to my surgery, Dr Quraishi came to see me in the morning and explained the procedure again, he assured me and made me feel completely safe in his care. The operation was successful and later that day Dr Quraishi came to see me to check on my progress and again the next day. Once discharged my aftercare has been brilliant and he has continued to check in on my progress. I truly feel that Dr Quraishi understood the severity of my pain and has done everything in his power to help me. I completely trust him and his judgement and appreciate everything he has done for me. I have never felt rushed or disregarded when I have seen him which I have felt with other doctors in the past when I have sought help for my back. I would, without a doubt, recommend Dr Quraishi, he has given me my life back when I was at breaking point and there is no gratitude in the world high enough for that.

Mr Quraishi from the 1st meeting to being discharged made my care, expectations and outcomes extremely clear, he took time to understand me personally what I wanted from the surgery. He was interested to learn about my personal, family life, activities I participate in and was able to advise on the necessary treatment plan to make a full active lifestyle a reality again. The plan we agreed on was a surgery to fix a prolapsed disc, I am now at the 6 month mark in my recovery and my life is 100% back to pre-injury. In a nutshell, he’s compassionate, puts in the time and the results speak for themselves.

Professor Quraishi has performed two procedures on my back for two different issues over the past 5 years. Both issues were severely restricting to my day to day life and both were totally cleared by Nasir allowing me to go back to a normal life. I am now quite clearly biased but have 100% confidence in his abilities and would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending him.

Prof Quraishi first diagnosed that I had two bulging discs in my neck in early 2019 at BMI The Park hospital. From that point, he clearly explained the options that were open to me but never pushed me towards one more than the other - any treatment was totally my choice. After receiving a series of physiotherapy treatment, I was scanned again and reassessed where it was realised that the discs had not reduced and were now unlikely to improve further. I did still then go on to have two separate nerve-block injections, always discussed and supported by Prof Quraishi before I reached the point where I felt surgery was necessary. Prof Quraishi agreed and set the process in motion but still advising me that I could change my mind if I decided not to go ahead. When a provisional date for surgery at The Park was later discovered not to be possible, he transferred me to The Spire Nottingham where I underwent the procedure to remove the two discs in April 2022. By this point, I had moved away from the Nottingham area but because of the trust I had built with Prof Quraishi, my husband and I made the two hour journey so that I could have this surgery conducted by him.

I had three previous surgical procedures by other surgeons including two fusions, one of which was not performed well and left me with worsened symptoms. When my symptoms further worsened I was referred to Prof Quraishi for advice and treatment. Prof Quraishi quickly identified the problem and began firstly with conservative interventions, which had never been offered to me before. Unfortunately my symptoms worsened again and Prof Quraishi performed a spinal decompression which went smoothly and I was home the next day. Prof Quraishi was the first surgeon to refer me for a course of physio therapy which was a revelation. I’m please to say that I am now pain free and no longer need the co codamol or gabapentin that I used extensively for 7 years and life is normal. Without question Prof Quraishi changed my life after a very depressingly long period of failed interventions by others. I would have no hesitation in referring myself back to Prof Quraishi should the need arise and happily recommend him to others. Thank you Prof Quraishi.

Having experienced severe problems following prolapsed discs I met with Dr Quraishi for a fresh opinion on my needs. Following an MRI scan he identified the need for surgery which was carried out a short time later. The surgery undertaken has relieved my problem completely and I am absolutely delighted with the results of the surgery he carried out. I walk and move like a regular person again. Dr Quraishi and all the team at Park hospital were fantastic, should I experience any issues in the future there is only one place I will go. I totally recommend Dr Quraishi for his professionalism and skill in dealing with what had been a spinal issue that had severely impacted my quality of life.

Thank you so very much for the incredible surgery you performed on my back. So far it is feeling fantastic. No pain sensations in my left leg and only a slight discomfort from my back. I have not had to take any pain killers since Monday morning having been discharged on the Sunday. Please pass on my heartfelt thanks to the rest of your team at the Spire. My very best wishes.

At the outset I was in so much pain it was unbearable but once seen by doctor quereshi and my condition understood, the treatment and advice I received was exceptional. When you’re in so much pain you never think you’re going to get better but by following doctor quereshis advice and having surgery has helped enormously.

Mr Quraishi took great care to understand my complex symptoms and explain the clinical issues and the non-surgical interventions available before explaining the surgical options. Mr Quraishi performed a decompression for me, I woke the following morning with immediately relieved symptoms and I continue to improve. Well done and thank you so much.
